We are a group of researchers across English universities, funded by the National Institute for Health Research, and are setting up a group of people with lived experience of adult social work and social care. If you meet the criteria set out below, we would love to hear from you about potentially helping us with research.

What do I need to know?

You need to have lived experience of any aspect of adult social care or social work or care for someone who does.
You need to be willing to work with everyone in the group to make sure everybody has a say.
You need to be comfortable with joining in and understanding that sometimes we might do things differently or creatively so everyone can participate in a way that works for them
This is a national group so it doesn’t matter where in England you live.
You will be paid for your time - £25 per hour for meetings.
More information:
The group will meet about 4 times a year. Meetings will be on Zoom – if you have not used Zoom before, we can provide some training/support to help you!
The group will help us identify what research to do, discuss research plans and how we can all use the findings to improve the social care support for people and their families, and lots more. We will be led by group members to decide how to organise meetings so that meetings are productive and enjoyable.

Caroline Jackson (based at the University of Birmingham) is setting up the group and you can contact her by phone/email if you have any questions.
