4000 children and young people contributed to a new and ambitious vision for the city

We know children and families have had a tough experience during the pandemic, so it’s even more important that as Birmingham bounces back, we prioritise their development, outcomes and experience.

Birmingham Children’s Partnership includes the local authority, children’s trust, police, health commissioners and providers, and the voluntary and community sectors.  We want to engage all professionals in the city about the new draft vision and continue to transform services.

We’ve already seen the impact of early help localities (led by the voluntary sector), new services such as Kooth, resilience grants, connecting around families, the team around the school model, and From Birmingham with Love.   But this is just the start.  Our big ideas are to:

  • Become a child friendly city
  • Invest in early help
  • Lift children out of poverty and deprivation

But we can’t do it without you.  This scale of challenge will take all of us working together, and it’s what our children and young people deserve.  Please have a read and think about the small things we can all do to help, and the 1000 small steps we are making as a system, so every child and young person has a bright future.
