We are looking for volunteers to support someone with a Vision Impairment to get out in their community. The role is called My Sighted Guide; A fantastic role where you will be matched with one of our clients and you will support them once a week, for a couple of hours to gain confidence in getting out of the house. This could involve a trip to a local Cafe, a stroll in the park, a walk around the local area or in some rare cases, jogging! This role is available across all areas of Birmingham

Your support could transform a life! Vision Impaired people who want to be more independent and live the life they choose benefit so much from a My Sighted Guide volunteer. Helping them gain confidence and embrace their surroundings you will be given full training for this role. You can volunteer at a time to suit you and your matched client. Maybe just one hour a week, sometimes 2-3 sessions per week, it is upto you! A great opportunity to support someone in your own area at a time to suit you.

Our comprehensive training sessions and support from a dedicated member of staff are provided and we pay out of pocket expenses such as fuel, public transport and parking costs. You will also receive an invitation to a Guide Dogs Welcome Event as part of your induction, where you will learn more about our work, meet other volunteers and also get to see our guide dogs!

This role is available in all areas of Birmingham!
