Recruitment of young people to shape NHS services

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) has partnered with Participation People, a youth participation company, to give young service users’ aged 16 – 24 the chance to sign up as UHB Young Champions.

This group of Young Champions will be the driving force in engaging the youth voice within services. They will offer fresh perspectives on how UHB listens to, values and acts on children and young people’s views, opinions and insights.

The Young Champions will receive accredited training and support. They’ll build their skills to work together to hear other young people's views too - making sure they have the right information to help senior leaders make the right decisions on behalf of young people.

To sign up as a UHB Young Champion, young people must be:
- Aged 16 – 24
- Have a lived experience of one or more of the many services provided by UHB
- Be ready to learn new skills and have FUN!
