Listening Books is a national UK charity that provides an online and postal audiobook lending service for anyone with a learning difficulty, illness, disability, or mental health condition, which affects their ability to read or hold books in the usual way.

We have thousands of wonderful fiction and non-fiction titles, including popular authors such as J. K. Rowling, David Walliams, Malorie Blackman, Khaled Hosseini, Agatha Christie and many more. We also have set texts and study guides supporting the National Curriculum from KS2 to A-Level and many of our educational titles are recorded in our professional digital studios and aren’t available anywhere else.

Our audiobooks are available on MP3 CDs sent in the post and they can also be streamed or downloaded to tablets, smartphones, computers or laptops.

Membership starts from £20 per year, however, we currently have funding to be able to offer a number of free memberships to people living in Birmingham, who would find our usual annual fees of between £20 and £45, a barrier to joining. We don’t require any financial proof for the free memberships and please be assured that we are a charity and there are no hidden costs!
