About Moseley Road Baths CIO 

Moseley Road Baths Charitable Incorporated Organisation took over the management of Moseley Road Baths from Birmingham City Council in April 2018. The CIO is a community-run charity set up by local swimmers to keep a much loved Grade II* Edwardian pool open for swimming and aims to ensure that the people of Balsall Heath, a deprived area of Birmingham, can continue to enjoy fitness and wellbeing activity that would otherwise be unavailable to them because of the cost or need to travel.

Moseley Road Baths are looking for a young person aged between 16 - 24yrs claiming Universal Credit to fill a Kickstart position. You will gain experience in general leisure management by undertaking the following tasks: helping to prepare, clean and put away equipment for swim academy lessons, family splash sessions, school lessons, and other health and wellbeing activities, helping with cleaning before and after swim sessions and other health and wellbeing activities.

You will learn specific skills on pool management such as supervising the pool (if NPLQ-qualified) if you are not qualified we will provide you with the specific training. You will assisting with water testing and other plant room tasks if required. You will be provided with the opportunity to undertake training to allow you to assist swim teachers and the Swim Coordinator during school and swim academy lessons.

You will be important in promoting the image of the Charity and provide a welcoming and friendly environment for customers, invigilating both community and cultural events, dealing with customer payments and enquiries at reception, undertaking general housekeeping duties in accordance with the baths cleaning schedule and ensuring that standards of cleanliness are achieved and maintained, any other tasks related to both swimming and health and wellbeing activities as required.

You will also receive Employability Training as part of our commitment to the Kickstart scheme, helping young people secure long term employment.

The person appointed will be employed by Birmingham Voluntary Services (BVSC) and seconded to Moseley Road Baths in Balsall Heath for the duration of their placement. The post is fixed term for 6 months.
