The Kickstart Exercise and Fitness Officer will help deliver indoor and outdoor activity sessions working with a Saheli Hub Lead.

About Saheli Hub

Saheli Hub is a small charity and company limited by guarantee based in Balsall Heath. Saheli Hub has pioneered how to engage and support ethnic minority women mainly but not exclusively to manage their long-term health conditions by getting them physically active. Saheli Hub provide social clubs (knit & natter, crochet & chai and talking art), fitness activities indoor and outdoor, sports and challenging adventures.

Saheli are looking for a young person aged between 16 - 24yrs claiming Universal Credit to fill a Kickstart position. The role will involve learning to plan and organise fitness & sports sessions to get more people involved and active developing your organisational skills. Taking part and supporting the delivery of regular fitness activities, sessions and sports supporting communities from all ages, backgrounds and abilities developing your customer service and service delivery skills, Saheli Hub aims to get people with long term health conditions or those isolated and lonely to live a healthier lifestyle.

You will develop your teaching skills by delivering relevant skills, tactics and techniques to your participants.

You will develop your general admin skills by monitoring and tracking sessions and progress.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in pursuing a career in sports, exercise and fitness.

You will also receive Employability Training as part of our commitment to the Kickstart scheme, helping young people secure long term employment.

The person appointed will be employed by Birmingham Voluntary Services (BVSC) and seconded to Saheli in Balsall Heath for the duration of their placement. The post is fixed term for 6 months.
