Our IAG service offers support and guidance to people with sight loss and disabilities, their carers, family and friends.  We are looking for volunteers who have a passion for supporting and empowering people through the knowledge IAG services can give.

As an IAG volunteer you would be part of our IAG team and supporting the staff to offer advice and guidance.  The service will play a crucial role in improving the quality of life of the people that use it.


- Connecting with other organisations
- Helping individuals understanding
- Accessing support and using Focus Birmingham's range of services
- Supporting the IAG staff
- Supporting signposting to professionals
- We will also be looking for IAG volunteers to support us locally in our outreach clinics (West Birmingham - Sutton Coldfield, Great Barr & Handsworth)

Skills and Experience 

- A commitment to the aims and values of Focus Birmingham
- Excellent communication
- A commitment to upholding confidentiality of sensitive information at all times
- The ability to confidently use a computer
- The ability to research, interpret and convey information to users of the service
- Training will be given but an interest in keeping up to date with what is happening in the
sight loss community and associated services
- Flexibility and reliability

Commitment Level

A minimum of 3 hours a week, one day a week.
