Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG Our IAG services offers support and guidance to people living with sight loss and disabilities, their carers, family and friends. We are looking for volunteers who have a passion for supporting and empowering people through the knowledge IAG services can give. Tasks:- Connecting with other organisations- Helping individuals understanding their condition- Supporting families, carers and IAG staff to help deliver Living Well with Sight Loss course- Accessing support and using Focus Birmingham's range of services- Supporting IAG staff- Help with form filling- Supporting signposting to professionalsDesirable skills and experience- A commitment to the aims and values of Focus Birmingham- Excellent communication skills- A commitment to uphold confidentiality of sensitive information at all times- The ability to confidently use a computer- The ability to research, interpret and convey information to users of the service- training will be given but an interest in keeping up to date with what is happening in the sight loss community and associated services- Flexibility and reliabilityTraining:- Focus Birmingham Core Training- Any additional training to enable you to undertake the role will be discussedIf you are interested in this role, please refer to Focus Birmingham website for an application form (under volunteer page).
