Title: Independent Living Skills Officer

Hours: 37 Hours per week – fixed term contract till March 2025

Salary: £20,600 to £22,440 per annum (FTE) (dependent on skills & experience)

Responsible to: Community Engagement Manager or as advised

Closing date: 30th June 2022 at 12pm (interviews are to commence from 1/7/22)

Working in partnership with Sandwell Advocacy & funded via Communities in Sync

Do you have a passion for working with people with learning disabilities (LD), helping them to thrive not just survive?

Do you have experience in helping parents with LD to navigate through challenges and to access support in their local community?

Can you work to tight deadlines and support people proactively?

If you have answered yes to these questions, have a full clean driving license and access to a vehicle, please help us to deliver independent living skills support to parents with learning disabilities.

The successful candidates will work closely & alongside the Advocacy Practitioner and a Marketing & Engagement Officer both employed by our partner Sandwell Advocacy. You should be able to demonstrate outstanding attention to detail as well as possessing excellent communication and organisational skills. They will need to work flexibly around the service & company needs and therefore some evening and/or weekend work will be required to support parents with learning disabilities.

This role will be delivered in the community, through a range of practical and hands on one to one and group sessions. The emphasis will be on early help and prevention, and the sessions will cover a wide range of topics aimed at improving independent living skills
