Role: Honorary Secretary (Trustee Position)Where: Volunteering from home with meetings in Birmingham City Centre or onlineWhen: Monthly Executive Committee meetings (evenings)Quarterly Trustee Meetings (evenings)Plus 2-3 hours volunteering per week tosuit your scheduleWhat does the volunteer role involve? Organising all Society meetings, including meetings of the trustees, theExecutive Committee and the AGMPreparing agendas in consultation with the President, circulating papersand taking minutesArranging refreshments and making reservations for meetings, activitiesand excursionsImproving the Society's electronic filing system and keepingdocumentation up-to-dateManaging the membership database, ensuring all information is keptaccurately and securely in line with GDPRLiaising with the Treasurer to ensure financial information is up-to-dateManaging all communications to members, including the e-newsletter,subscription reminders and payment instructionsSupporting the Executive Committee in ensuring the Society is runeffectively and in compliance with Charity Commission requirements andguidelinesSupporting any required volunteer recruitmentOrganising the Society's subscriptions to external bodiesWhat can you bring to the board?Strong organisational skillsAdministrative experience including minute taking and record keepingGood IT skills and access to a computerAn interest and passion for archeology and local historyHonesty, reliability and commitmentKnowledge and understanding of charity law would be advantageous
