It's been a tough year for Birmingham's charities! More than half the respondents to our 2020 State of the Sector Survey told us that they have lost income this year as a direct result of the Coronavirus; and around a third expect their income will continue to fall in 2021.

So this year, end-of-year appeals and campaigns are going to be more important than ever.

If you're looking for a cause to support this Christmas - either as an individual or organisation - we've listed a few suggestions below. And if you're a charity running a seasonal campaign, please tell us about it (email [email protected]) and we'll add it to the list.

Birmingham LGBT Fundraiser

Traditionally Birmingham LGBT has held a party on Christmas Day so members of the LGBT+ community do not have to spend Christmas Day alone. Due to Covid this year they'll be organising a Zoom social so people can connect with other members of the community. They'll also deliver a small hamper with a Christmas gift and some Christmas treats to community members who would have attended their Christmas party, had we been able hold it.
