On Saturday 1st October we are filling the Library of Birmingham with a huge celebration of all things Birmingham, heritage and libraries as part of the Fun Palace weekend, a national campaign for community and culture that is free to take part in and made for, by and with your community. If you’re not sure what a Fun Palace, check out Funpalaces.co.uk!

So far plans include music workshops, clay modelling, lino printing, Shakespeare inspired workouts, storytelling, research skills workshops and more. The plan is to fill the Library of Birmingham with everyone of any age and ability can join in!

We need volunteers of any age (18+), any ability to help deliver activities and make the day run smoothly. No previous experience is needed, just a willingness to learn and talk to members of the public. All travel expenses and meals reimbursed while volunteering.

Planning workshops and briefings are happening through end of August - September at the Library of Birmingham.
