FOOD clubs is a Family Action project with eleven clubs in Birmingham and more being set up!

The clubs:

  • Provide regular access to a sustainable supply of food to people at risk of food insecurity
  • Encourage families to access local support services and be signposted to other agencies
  • Increase disposable income for local families to improve life chances and wellbeing
  • Reduce the amount of food being sent to landfill in the UK by utilising surplus food

Family Action has eleven FOOD clubs across Birmingham and is establishing more! With volunteers needed for the day, evening and weekend shifts, you'll be trained and supported to:

  • receive, sort and safely store deliveries
  • assist at clubs, organising food boxes, greeting families and provide excellent customer service

In return we can offer:

  • access to FOOD clubs
  • Free level 2 food hygiene, allergy awareness training and safeguarding training
  • induction training from national charity Family Action
