Veterans – Health and Wellbeing Conversations
Seldom Heard Conversations – Veterans Health and Wellbeing
To deliver more efficient and effective services and more person-centred care, Birmingham City Council supported by Enigma CCS are holding feedback sessions to discuss your experience and discover your views on the challenges faced by ex-service personnel (veterans) as they transition into civilian life.
It is our ambition that Birmingham is a city where those who have served in the Armed Forces and their families are treated fairly and are able to make a smooth transition into civilian life.
As part of this work, we are organising targeted focus group to speak with several different veteran groups.
This work is to support Birmingham’s Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) deep dive on veterans in Birmingham.
The findings will be used to determine actions local authorities, the local NHS and other parties need to take to meet health and social care needs and to address the wider determinants that impact on health and wellbeing.
The aim is to develop local evidence-based priorities for commissioning which will improve the public’s health and reduce inequalities for the veteran community.
We will be holding a focus group at BVSC Conference Centre, 138 Digbeth, Birmingham, B5 4DR on the following dates and times:
- Veterans with mental health issues- 24th February 2020 – 09:30 – 12:30
- BAME veterans - 24th February 2020 – 13:30 – 16:30
- Female veterans - 4th March 2020 – 09:30 – 12:30
- Reservists - 4th March 2020 – 13:30 – 16:30
