Towards a peer support learning group for third sector leaders in Birmingham
Ever wish there was more time to pause and reflect on the changes that are taking place within the voluntary sector, or your organisations more specifically? The last few years have been incredibly challenging for many voluntary organisations, with those in leadership positions having to work ever harder to navigate a rapidly changing environment. Day to day fire-fighting leaves little space for reflection. Is it time for some time out?
BVSC are working in partnership with TSRC to begin to build a network of leaders from Birmingham’s voluntary and community sector. We will use findings from TSRC’s Change in the Making research to stimulate discussion, reflection, sharing of experience and learning. This is a unique study of change within the voluntary sector, including nearly 10 years of engagement with a group of case study organisations. We will use the first session to identify topics for discussion, but they could include: internal and external sources of change; influencing change; experiences of change. The sessions will be held 09:30-12:30 on the 22 January, 27 February and 26 March, and we ask that wherever possible you commit to all three sessions. Each will start with tea/coffee and cake, and finish with lunch. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed. Places are limited, and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
