Sidelines to Centre Stage

Abda Khan, the author of Stained (2016) and Razia (2019), has worked with members of Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid refuges, and with women assisted by the Muslim Women in Prison Project in Bradford.

Through a series of creative writing workshops, the women have produced work that articulates their challenging and wide-ranging life experiences from domestic violence to homelessness love, loss and hope.

Watch and listen to actors perform these gripping stories and poems on stage. This unique journey unearths the hidden stories of incredibly brave women.
