Shaping Our Lives project: ‘A Refuge for All’

This is an invitation to a free event in Birmingham for people and organisations that want to understand more about providing accessible services for Disabled women.

Shaping Our Lives project, ‘A Refuge for All’, has been working with Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid to establish a user-led model of best practice for Disabled women experiencing violence or abuse.

We are holding a free event in Birmingham to share our experiences of developing inclusive services for Disabled women and are inviting people interested in this work to join us.

The aim of the event is to develop closer relationships with other statutory, public, voluntary and community organisations that work with Disabled women who may be experiencing violence and abuse.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided

Who should attend?

If you work with Disabled women and want to learn more about accessible services for women experiencing violence and abuse then please join us. We hope that the event will raise awareness and understanding about why Disabled women experience higher rates of violence and abuse and how organisations can work together to support them.

To attend this event please email Vicky Rushworth at vicky[at]shapingourlives.org[dot]uk  or telephone Becki Meakin on 07956 424511.
