Annual Fundraising Ball in aid of Father Hudson's Care
Father Hudson’s 115th Annual Fundraising Ball will return to the National Conference Centre (beside the National Motorcycle Museum, B92 0EJ), starting at 7:30 pm on Saturday 26 January 2019.
The 114th Ball raised £7,160 for Father Hudson’s projects and the volunteer committee are working on making 2019’s event even bigger and better.
The Marmites return to entertain with live music, and Jimmy’s Tombola and the silent auction are back by public demand. We will be joined by the High Sherriff of the West Midlands, Chris Loughran, and Miss West Midlands, Niamh Conway.
Tickets cost £40 and are available from Libby Musgrave: call 01675-434059 or e-mail libbymusgrave[at]fatherhudsons.org.uk[dot] The price includes a three-course meal.
The volunteer committee that organises the event has chosen two projects to support:
Father Hudson’s Family Support in Schools Service
This service works through schools to identify and support children who are showing worrying signs of poor behaviour, truancy and low levels of attainment. The reasons for these can be complex and can include mental health issues, debt and housing problems, addiction and substance abuse, marital breakdown and domestic violence. Eight support workers provide support one-to-one and in groups, often over many months, to hundreds of children and families in 24 schools across an area that includes Birmingham, Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent and Banbury. This tailored support helps not just the child but the entire family to overcome their difficulties and help children and young people achieve their potential. New IT equipment is needed to enable workers to support more children and families in need.
Father Hudson’s in your Community
This awareness-raising project will have a direct impact on Father Hudson’s beneficiaries. People in Coleshill and beyond know of us but, because our work is so diverse, they’re not always sure of what we do, how we help and how they can get involved to make a difference. This new project to increase awareness of Father Hudson’s Care will change this and help people live fuller lives.
