This is a group for anyone managing front-line community development practitioners, delivering work in an asset-based way. In three interactive Zoom workshops, all held in a confidential environment, participants will have the chance to describe a current challenge or situation, pose a question to the group, and benefit from their wisdom and experience. We’ll be sharing learning around how to support staff to apply strengths-based community development approaches in their work, building relationships, and creating an ongoing peer network.

Part of the new Community Development Practice Hub, which aims to connect, inspire and upskill community development practitioners across Birmingham.

The Community Development Group will be facilitated by Steph Vidal-Hall. Steph coaches and facilitates individuals and teams wherever people want to do good work; hear from every voice in the room, do independent thinking, deliver ‘with’ rather than ‘for’, learn together, come up with new solutions, collaborate across teams and organisations. Steph has been working across sectors for the past 30 years; corporate, cultural, health, sport and wellbeing. She has a keen interest in Asset Based Community Development and is proud to live and work in Birmingham. https://stephvidalhall.co.uk

Please note: These sessions are heavily subsidised and are pilot activities for the Community Development Practice Hub.

The hub has been developed by Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) and is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK. It aims to develop creative ways for people to be actively involved in their local communities, to test and learn from new approaches to designing services that aim to make people’s lives healthier and happier.
