An interactive training day with an individual mentoring session. This programme will help all managers new and experienced to get a grip on the basics of management of first of all themselves and then their team members. The individual mentoring session helps to consolidate learning and use in their specific work context. It is a fun learning day that over 250 charity managers have enjoyed and benefited from. This highly participative, targeted and person-centred programme is suitable for;

• Third Sector managers/supervisors who have never attended a formal
management course
• First time Third Sector managers who need to learn the basics quickly
• Experienced Third Sector managers who would like a refresher and an

The programme comprises a full day group training session plus one individual
mentoring session.

The first half of the group training session will focus on self management.
This includes:
• identifying key skills and characteristics of good managers
• improving your personal productivity
• successful communication skills.
Identifying your strengths

The second half of the group training session will focus on leading your
team.
This includes:
• improving performance of staff
• learning to delegate well
• Empowering your team members.

The individual mentoring session will be at a time convenient to each learner,
and will focus on one or two issues that are most relevant to the individual and
their current challenges or opportunities.
