This course and individual mentoring session provides a practical approach for identifying, preparing and engaging in those difficult but “must have” conversations including:

·       Tackling poor performance

·       Giving bad news

·       Major decisions

·       Sensitive issues

·       Inappropriate behaviour

      Many of my coaching conversations have at their centre the leader needing to have a “difficult conversation” in order that change happens. This course will give you the skills and confidence to arrange and have these important conversations with, team members, peers, your own manager or suppliers. By the end of the course, you will be ready, prepared and equipped to tackle situations you might often look to defer or ignore.

Crucial conversations if conducted professionally with skill improve individual and team performance.  They also build morale and significantly increase your leadership satisfaction.

Who will run this training?

The trainer for this programme is Rob Legge.  Rob is an independent leadership coach and trainer.  Prior to that, he was CEO of Focus Birmingham for ten years.  He set up and ran the national Community Services Directorate at Sense, was Head of Shops at Oxfam and a Regional Fundraising Director at RNIB.

Rob’s training style is highly participative and is based on his practical experience of over 30 years of management.

Over the last three years more than 700 charity managers have participated in his leadership programmes and courses.  His unique mixture of group training and individual coaching ensures each participant gains maximum learning and directly relate this to their own working context.
