Background checks
This role will require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as well as two references, ideally from people in professional roles.

Role Tasks
• Shop duties – stocktaking, assisting, customers, updating databases and systems, ordering new stock and actively promoting products
• Technology Course duties – one to one with service users, including teaching accessible technology, demonstrating screen readers, magnification devices,
Assisting with mobile phones, laptops, tablets and smart speakers.
• Kitchen Skills Course duties – assisting service users by demonstrating implements, gadgets and devices which enable those with visual impairments to be safer in the kitchen.

Skills required
• Excellent administration skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Excellent organisational skills
• An understanding of Microsoft packages, including Excel
• An understanding of accessible technology to assist those living with visual impairments
• Friendly, helpful and caring
• A strong understanding and respect for confidentiality

• Any additional relevant training to enable you to undertake the role
