Dancing Roots

Very excited for this new series of Dancing Roots - the African-Caribbean diasporic dance and social experience for mature people. It couldn’t have come at a more perfect time as we celebrate the Windrush Generation and their incredible contributions - one of the main inspirations behind why these sessions began in the first place.

As always, Dancing Roots is set to bring feel-good energy and positive vibes only. Expect uplifting sessions featuring a vibrant blend of West African, Caribbean and UK-inspired creativity through dance. Guaranteed to invigorate, connect and uplift you.

We warmly welcome new people to join our vibrant community.

Dates: Every Saturday from 20th June 2026 – 8th August 2026
Time: 12:45pm – 1:45pm

Some sessions will also feature live drumming accompaniment.

Dancing Roots is delivered by award-winning Keneish Dance. Keneish Dance believes that freedom of expression comes through dance and culture, and that everybody has the right to be in touch with their own mind, body and spirit.

Rainbow Roundtable: Trans and Non-Binary Safe Blood Monitoring Access

A discussion group for a feasibility study into a blood monitoring service. Birmingham LGBT, working with Birmingham’s Public Health Division, want to understand how we can support trans and non-binary people to access safe and timely blood monitoring, particularly where you cannot access this via the NHS.
