Job description

We will support you over a number of weeks in your journey to become a Helpline Volunteer.

79,000 people call our National Helpline every year. For many callers this will be the first time they have asked for help with their grief. Our volunteers are there to listen, provide emotional support and talk through the options available to them.

Existing Helpline volunteers work very hard, but they can only answer less than half of them.

We will begin by introducing you to the systems before moving on to a training program that is grounded in theory and experiential in nature; as part of this there will be opportunities for you to listen to live calls both individually and as a group. There will then be an onboarding period during which you will answer your first call.
