On BVSC's Vision for Volunteering event held on 24 November was set up to invite individuals from the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector to share their perspectives on volunteering in Birmingham, informing the creation of a volunteering strategy for the city.

Conversations at the event explored outcomes which Birmingham’s volunteering strategy should be aiming to meet and generated the questions which need answering to approach these outcomes. This learning was captured and translated into a visual narrative reflecting the ideas generated in the room. Turnout was good, with 63 delegates representative of Birmingham’s voluntary sector organisations, volunteers, education, and council in attendance.

Learning from the event will be used by the BVSC Research team to create a Volunteering State of the Sector bite-sized report, part of BVSC’s wider State of The Sector Report 2022. A Birmingham Vision for Volunteering will be finalised, including a full report and a visual ‘strategy on a page’. This will be shared and accessible via the BVSC website. An action plan, hosted by BVSC will be created, underpinning the strategy, to support all partners to engage and take forward identified priorities.
