Association of Corporate Governance Practitioners
The Association of Corporate Governance Practitioners (ACGP) is the professional body focused on supporting practitioners and board members who have a responsibility for corporate governance. The role of the association is to provide the tools, resources and networks to enable practitioners that work in the many different professional disciplines represented by the governance function and board members who all have a governance responsibility to carry out their role in the most effective way. The association provides professional qualifications, short courses and events at a range of levels from introductory to expert. Practitioners become members by sitting professional examinations (or seeking the required exemptions) and demonstrating relevant practical experience and agreeing to the ethical standards and values of the association. The association promotes the significance and importance of good governance to the success of all organisations operating in the private, public and third sector. We ensure employers, students and regulatory bodies are familiar with the role and importance of governance practitioners and we aim to ensure that we are the main resource for all the sectors that rely on these professionals. There are specific work streams for practitioners working in large Corporate, SMEs, Financial Services, IT, NHS and the Third Sector. We are a leading voice in the area of governance.
