Cohousing West Midlands (CoHoWM) is a registered Mutual Home Ownership Society and needs new members.

If you like the idea of creating a great neighbourhood, having your own front door and private space and also enjoying shared space and resources, please get in touch. We need members, friends and business partners. We need you!

We’ve been inspired by projects such as LILAC in Leeds and Marmalade Lane in Cambridge and plan to build an intergenerational, friendly and sustainable community of 20-30 homes filled with a wide range of people reflecting the wonderful diversity of the region. We hope to have some social rental properties and we aim to include shared facilities such as a common house where people can choose to cook and eat together and to have allotments and play areas.

We are seeking a site that is close to public transport, schools and leisure and health facilities and has nearby green spaces. We will reserve some housing for people living in the site locality who want to become members of CoHoWM and also consult people living in the area about other ways they might benefit from the project.

We’re in the process of finalizing our business plan, have regular Zoom meetings, monthly Saturday or Sunday social get-togethers and plan to organise some information events in the near future. You can find more information about CoHoWM, Mutual Home Ownership Societies and cohousing generally on our website. If you would like to hear more about the project please get in touch and let us know your contact preferences. We look forward to hearing from you.
