Witness Service Outreach (West Midlands)

If you are interested in helping others in your community, this may be the role for you!

Citizens Advice Witness Service Outreach volunteers are trained to support witnesses who are vulnerable and intimidated.

Our volunteers meet victims and witnesses away from the court environment, either at home or at another agreed safe place like a school or community centre and also offer support at court on the trial day.

Citizens Advice Witness Service provides free and independent support for both Prosecution and Defence Witnesses giving evidence at a Criminal Court. Our trained volunteers provide practical information about the court process as well as emotional support to help witnesses feel more confident when giving evidence.

We are looking for volunteers across Birmingham to support victims and witnesses at court and out in the community, we provide free training and out of pocket expenses. If you are available to volunteer for at least one full day a week or per fortnight and you are looking for a volunteering role that is sometimes challenging and very much rewarding, then this may be a volunteering opportunity for you.
