Volunteer Project Co-ordinator
A volunteer Co-ordinator who enjoys exercise and healthy activities is wanted urgently for the FitFamilies Programme to implement, deliver and monitor projects, liaising with area leads, schools, organisations and partners.
FitFamilies is an exciting new project aimed at families that are physically inactive. The project will offer additional support to those families, encouraging them to embrace healthy activities together. Activities will be sports and physical activity-based, that families can do together to promote stronger relationships, increase positive family time, strengthen ties and build resilience.
This project is aimed at families in Birmingham offering support to those families, encouraging them to embrace healthy activities together. The first sessions will take place in schools across Ladywood, Hodge Hill, and Kings Norton.
FitFamilies project is funded by Sport England and will work in partnership with Premier Education Group and the Children’s Society.
Premier Foundation is a national not for profit charity which works within the community to engage with young people who are disengaged, disadvantaged or classed as “hard to reach” by providing them with opportunities which they may not have previously had exposure to.
The Premier Foundation uses the power of physical activity as a vehicle not only to make a real difference to the health and well being of the nation but to actively change lives of young people, building skills and stimulate personal development.
To be effective in this role, we ask that you:
- Have positive social communication skills.
- Have a supportive nature and non-judgemental approach.
- Are reliable and able to commit to agreed times of volunteering.
- As time permits, to be willing and able to take part in sports-based/active sessions with families to encourage them to participate.
- Have enthusiasm and commitment to working with families and young people.
