Volunteer at Birmingham's permanent night shelter
Tabor House is Birmingham's only permanent night shift for the homeless offering shelter, warmth, food and support to help individuals make positive life changes. Shelter and support can be provided for up to 4-6 months (reviewed regularly) to help individuals find work and permanent accommodation.
At the heart of the project are our volunteers providing support over 3 shifts (evenings, overnight and mornings). Whilst we are keen to recruit volunteers for all shifts the priority is to recruit a number of volunteers to support the overnight shifts particularly on Sunday, Thursday and Friday overnights. The shift commences at 10 pm and finishes at 7.15 am. This will be a shared shift providing the opportunity of 4 hours sleep.
We are looking for individuals who can offer time and commitment to suit their needs, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or as and when. In return, we offer induction training, ongoing support and a warm and friendly atmosphere. Tabor House offers a wonderful volunteer experience.
