Telephone Advice and Support Service
The Afghanistan and Central Asian Association is a charity supporting the integration of refugees and asylum seekers into British society and improving access to mainstream services.
Due to COVID-19, we have reconfigured our services to telephone and online. It is now more important than ever to continue reaching our community in these extremely difficult times and having a joined-up advice service to the local Afghan refugee population in partnership with local organisations and the authorities in Birmingham is vital for their wellbeing.
We are still open to continue supporting Birmingham residents, refugees and asylum seekers with advice on issues such as financial advice benefits advice and Universal Credit applications for previously self-employed people, citizenship applications and liaison with the Home Office, mental health advice and support with domestic violence over the telephone.
We hope to be able to provide reassurance of accurate and timely information and support in their own languages (as necessary).
We have a team of Farsi, Dari and Pashtu speaking volunteers who are on hand to provide advice and information to marginalised local communities in Birmingham who require advice in their own languages.
We are happy to provide a three-way translation and interpretation service to your clients and beneficiaries so please feel free to contact us if you require our support in providing advice to the local community.
Our contact number is 0208 572 0300. Opening Hours are 10 am to 5 pm from Monday to Friday.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
