PA to the Festival Director
The Birmingham, Sandwell & Westside Jazz Festival will celebrate its 35th consecutive year with 213 performances over 10 jazz-packed July days, from July 19th to 28th 2019. Musicians will travel from France, Italy, Spain, Lithuania and USA to line up alongside musicians from throughout the UK to deliver more than 400 hours of good-time jazz and blues on our streets and in cafes, bars, restaurants, shopping areas, museums, libraries, hotels, parks and even on a canal boat, with 90% of concerts FREE to the public.
The festival offers more than just music, with jitterbug dance classes popping up all over the place, a photographers’ master workshop and a sketch crawl, which is a bit like a pub crawl except folks get to sketch jazz musicians. There are also ukulele workshops for all ages and levels of competence.
The Festival depends on the volunteer army whose efforts enable the event to function properly. We are looking for drivers, technical staff, distribution, marketing, PR and administration.
We are a small professional team who are organising the 35th year of this festival. We offer a full induction, support and training within every role.

Assisting the Festival Director to send emails to venues, musicians and businesses.
Liaising with bands.
Organising the director’s diary, meeting agendas and minutes.
Maintaining internal databases and a range of other administrative support.
