For the Love of Scrubs Birmingham Volunteers Call
Do you want to GET INVOLVED by supporting and keeping NHS staff and keyworkers safe while working on the frontline throughout coronavirus?
If so, by VOLUNTEERING you will help hundreds of keyworkers feel safer during the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the Love of Scrubs Birmingham are a group of over 650 volunteers who have been stitching scrubs, scrub bags, face coverings and other bits, for keyworkers across Birmingham from the beginning of April.
So far we have been able to distribute much-needed items across hospitals, clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) & care homes at an incredible pace.
Every request we get, we fulfill.
To do this, we have created an operational system with volunteers who are working day in day out to create much-needed scrubs, scrub bags, headband and mask extenders.
So far, we have run a successful fundraising campaign and built partnerships to secure fabric (Chris Evan's Fund) & drop off points (ASDA Superstores), however we are looking to raise additional funds to continue supplying to match the ever-increasing demand, as well as help us adapt to continuing challenges.
We are eager to continue helping, by volunteering in anyone of the below areas, you can me the driving force in continuing our work.
- Fabric cutting
- Collecting (fabric packs to angels and completed items to care settings and establishments)
As the current climate continues to change and create challenges your donated time will help us to support the individuals that need it the most.
Our keyworkers deserve to be and feel safe every day and our ’Sewing Angels’ are ready to sew, let's give them the scrubs they need.
