We are running a programme around ‘unlocking social connection is supermarkets’ as part of a National lottery Funded programme. We have trials running in Glasgow and are now looking to recruit a Community Coordinator to lead the work in Birmingham. The ProjectWe are at an exciting time of the project cycle where our research and engagement has helped set up trial locations to run trials for the programme. The initial trial is taking place in Asda Small Heath, Birmingham and we require a freelance Community Coordinator to take the lead in running the trial in this store and developing further relationships across Birmingham for future opportunities for the programme. You can read more here https://www.neighbourlylab.com/post/trialling-ways-supermarkets-can-play-host-for-local-community-activities-to-encourage-more-socialAbout the Community Coordinator role-Engaging with local voluntary and community organisations to recruit them for the project and help develop ideas for engagement.-Run engagement sessions for the community to scope their interests in utilising the space in the agreed store/s. -To coordinate and lead activities in store over the 12 week trial in partnership with the Asda Community Champion in Small Heath.-Support the measurement of impact of the trials by capturing agreed data from activity sessions. This may be in the form of counting attendees, intercept interviews, surveys, in depth interviews to create case studies.-Capture learning on a weekly basis to feed into the wider learning of the programme. -Develop relationships with retailers across Birmingham to engage interest and share learnings.-Engage with wider stakeholders about the trials such as council, Public health, NHS, VCFSE organisations to share insights and learning. -Undertaking research to support the project as requested.-Engage with the Programme lead and other Neighbourly Lab colleagues on a regular basis as part of team calls. -Bring your own knowledge and experience of Small Heath/ Birmingham to the trials to make suggestions and recommendations. Skills and experience needed-Excellent planning and logistical skills-Community engagement experience-Excellent communication skills with various stakeholders-Warm and friendly approach-Experienced at managing own time-Proactive approach-Happy to work independently-Ability to travel to Small Heath Asda store on a regular basis throughout the 12 week trial.-Ability to travel to other areas in Birmingham for engagement as when required.-Enthusiasm for Neighbourly Labs mission on increasing Social Connection Further details- Location: Home based in Birmingham, must be able to regularly be in Asda Small Heath store for trials.-The trials will run in Asda Small Heath for 12 weeks from August - October 2024-This is a fixed term duration running from August 2024 - November 2024 for 4 months to support the trial running, being measured and the reporting. -You will work under the direction and management of the Programme lead- Annette Holman who is based in London.-It is a freelance opportunity, for an initial 4 months working 3 days a week. The days and hours can be discussed, once agreed they should remain the same throughout to enable a regular delivery of the programme.-We will pay an hourly rate of £20ph, which will be invoiced monthly. -We will also cover separately for expenses such as travel and subsistence.
