Role: As a Community Coordinator, you are at the heart of your regional communities. Your mission is to Connect and help the community thrive.

Events: Promote local events, classes and workshops, and share post-event stories.

Social Media: Identify and engage with key social media groups to promote CYF organically (e.g. promote courses, volunteering opportunities, wider activities). Also, write and schedule story posts on social - internal (slack) and external channels (e.g. thanks notes to volunteers and events promotion).

Develop new ideas: Use your creativity to build a strong community in the region.

About you: You are passionate about helping others and supporting a community project.
You have weekly availability of 4 hours (flexible hours).
You are able to travel to Birmingham for in person events.
No experience in coding and the tech industry necessary.

How we support you during the experience: You will develop skills such as project management, goal oriented tasks to support the community, create and plan social media posts, assist in organising social and learning events.
During your time volunteering you will develop skills that are in high demand in the workplace; creative thinking, team work, communication etc.

About us: CYF is a non-profit organisation based in the UK. We train refugees and people from disadvantaged backgrounds in full-stack web development. Our work helps to increase diversity in the tech industry with 70 percent of our students going onto further education or successful careers in tech. We rely on volunteers to help run our programmes and keep changing lives.
