The Role: Course Facilitator

Cherished are seeking committed, organised and hardworking individuals who are experienced in leading and planning group sessions to lead our Cherished & ROAR courses in the schools we work with across Birmingham.

Please note our Cherished Leaders are required to be female and for our ROAR Courses we require male leaders.

Our Cherished course is for girls in primary and secondary school to feel safe, seen, soothed and secure. The course explores topics including relationships, friendships, being online, strengths, self-esteem, kindness and more!

Our Roar "I Am Able" course supports boys to build positive relationships, proving them with new opportunities for growth, offering a safe space for them to identify aspirations, build self-regulation and develop strength of character. We explore topics including bravery, confidence, self-regulation and values.

Requirements for all those applying:

All applicants must believe in the visions and values of Cherished
Applicants must have knowledge about the organisation and the services we offer.
Preferred experience of leadership and group management
Preferred or experience of leading youth groups and working with children.
Excellent people skills
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
A fast paced worker who has the ability to work within a team
Preferred experience of trauma training

Hours and Pay

The courses are an hour a week with a duration of between 6 & 8 weeks. The successful applicant will be expected to deliver up to three courses at any one time.

The cost per session delivered is £40 - this includes course delivery, managing the resources for the course, evaluations and monitoring. You will work closely with our team of volunteers who will support you with delivery of the course and also the Cherished Course Leader, who oversees the planning of the courses.
