Karis Neighbour Scheme (KNS) is seeking to appoint a Chaplain for Wellbeing as part of our Listening and Guidance Service. We are looking for an experienced pastoral person to join our team as we expand our work within the Edgbaston Primary Care Networks.

This post is funded by Living Well Consortium for one year. We will look at other opportunities to obtain ongoing funding for the role beyond this initial year.

The Listening and Guidance service sits within the ‘Talking Therapies’ provided by the NHS, this professional listening support service is offered within Primary Care settings (GP surgeries and telephone), based on an approach to health and wellbeing which addresses the emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs of patients.

Listening and Guidance has been found to be particularly effective for patients experiencing loss or change in their lives, eg. in relationships, work, health, bereavement, confidence, purpose, lifestyle, self-efficacy, relocation, crisis, trauma or mental health.

The service is available for all patients irrespective of their faith, beliefs or cultural background.

The Listening and Guidance service are looking for an experienced pastoral person to join our team as we expand our work within the Edgbaston Primary Care Networks.

The role involves:
· providing confidential emotional, pastoral and spiritual care for patients in a one-to-one setting
· sign-posting patients to other provision in the community as needed.

Training and supervision will be provided.
