Become a Volunteer Mentor with The Diana Award Recruiting for Volunteer Mentors - The Programme:The Diana Award is the only legacy charity in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales and was founded on Diana, Princess of Wales’ belief that young people have the power to change the world. Through our Mentoring Programme, we pair volunteer mentors from the world of work with young people who are at risk of becoming Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET), to give them an insight into the world of work and career skills training. The Programme is available in London, Leeds and Birmingham. Being a Mentor:We’re on a mission to break the stereotypical view of who a mentor can be- we welcome applicants of all industries and levels of experience. This is a great opportunity for you to gain skills in communication and leadership, building empathy and understanding of issues and barriers facing young people in their communities. We ask for a weekly commitment for twelve weeks, sessions last around an hour and are delivered in local schools. We will train you to be a mentor and provide ongoing support for the duration of the programme. We are currently recruiting for our Spring cohort, which begins in March. If you wish to be considered for this cohort, please apply before the 6th of January. You can find all details of the volunteering opportunity on our website or apply through - https://the-diana-award.typeform.com/to/rTpOap5A?typeform-source=diana-award.org.ukMentor Feedback:“Being a part of the mentoring programme has been one of the most insightful and rewarding experiences I've had. I am really happy I made the decision to sign up. I approach mentoring so differently now and have learned how to be a better support to young people.”“I have learnt the skills of being a Mentor and coaching a young person’s rather than instructing/telling them how to do things or what has to be done.”
