Birmingham Botanical Gardens has today opened applications for four exciting Trustee positions. The charity is seeking Trustees with specialisms in fundraising, strategic marketing, a treasurer and a company secretary, who will help play a vital role at Birmingham Botanical Gardens as it enters an exciting period of transition, responding to new challenges. The charity will appoint Trustees who support its vision and mission:

Our mission is to support plant biodiversity and an understanding of its importance to the natural environment through conservation, education, engagement and enjoyment.

Birmingham Botanical Gardens employs 27 full-time members of staff, supported by 50 wonderful volunteers and a Board of 10 Trustees.

It is now recruiting to bring new talent and expertise to its Board in four key areas:

• Fundraising: The Fundraising Trustee will have a background in charity fundraising at a strategic level and will play a vital role in shaping the future of the Gardens through a bold new funding strategy.

• Strategic Marketing: The Strategic Marketing Trustee will have previous Board experience and a background in charity marketing at a strategic level will play a vital role in shaping the future of the Garden’s marketing strategy.

• Treasurer: Birmingham Botanical Gardens is looking for a Treasurer with previous Board experience and a formal accountancy qualification to help steer the financial direction of the charity.

• Company Secretary: The Company Secretary will be somebody with previous Board experience, bringing a high level of expertise to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens Board of Trustees.
