In response to the recent violent disorder outside Southport Islamic Centre and Mosque, and online rhetoric suggesting other mosques are likely to be targeted; the Home Office Protective Security Team are introducing an emergency security offer for mosques facing an imminent threat of significant public disorder or in the immediate aftermath of such an incident. This may include:

Security guarding for sites at high risk as soon as possible for up to 4 weeks initially.

Physical security surveys.

This will be entirely funded by the Home Office.

If you represent a mosque or associated Muslim community centre and are located in an area either targeted by anti-immigration or Islamophobic protests since the Southport attack on 29/07 OR have reason to believe that the area is likely to be targeted soon, please get in touch with us at: [email protected]
