LGBT Awareness Training Overview

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) people’s visibility and rights in the UK have improved in recent times; however, the LGBT community still face barriers to accessing many services and a lack of inclusion and are disproportionately affected by many poor health factors.
This half-day course will cover basic awareness of LGBT communities and issues affecting them. It will also ask participants to examine their own work practices to identify if or where issues may lie, or where improvements could be made.
Our aim is to support organisations to become culturally competent, so that they can create safe and inclusive environments that contribute to improved lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender wellbeing and inclusion.
Birmingham LGBT is an award-winning charity which delivers a wide range of health and wellbeing services specifically tailored for LGBT communities.
Our training courses are delivered online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
