You have 2 main ways, you can visit our voluntary work search page, or you can visit us at our Volunteer Centre in Digbeth. The Centre is open Monday to Friday 10am-4pm.

I want a placement relevant to my course and am happy to volunteer, who do I contact?

You would be best placed to visit the Volunteer Centre in Digbeth which is open 10am-4pm Monday to Friday and register and search for roles and companies to contact

I work full time but want to volunteer, how do I get involved?

If you cannot get into the Volunteer Centre which is open Monday-Friday 10am-4pm then please register on this website and then search for the opportunities you are interested in.

I’m interested in volunteering but don’t know what type of volunteering I would like to do?

If you visit our Volunteer Centre you will be able to register and search for roles and can pick from a list of activities of interest. This will bring up a list of relevant roles which you can browse to see what would suit you best.

What age do I have to be to volunteer?

There are no age restrictions for Volunteering although for a large majority of the roles we cover you would need to be at least 18 years of age.

I want to volunteer but don’t want to work all week?

You don’t have to. When you find relevant roles and apply make sure you know in advance when you would like to/not like to work as this can be negotiated with the Organisation. Most organisations do not expect you to work all week.

Do I get expenses paid if I volunteer?

Yes but not in all cases. When applying for the role just check with the organisation as to what you can be reimbursed for or if they cover travel expenses. You can make up your mind from there as to whether you wish to continue to apply.
