Volunteer Centre Birmingham is run by BVSC, the Centre for Voluntary Action.

The volunteer centre aims to:

  • Put people in contact with organisations where they can volunteer.
  • Provide advice and information to organisations on involving volunteers.  

Volunteer Centre Birmingham works with volunteers and third sector organisations in the city of Birmingham. We are part of the Volunteer Centre Network in England.

Opening Hours

Monday - Friday 10am - 4pm*

*No appointment is neccessary, however, we are closed for English Public Holidays and occasionally for Staff training - (notices of closure are displayed prior).

What the Volunteer Centre staff aim to achieve

  • To ensure that prospective volunteers are aided in the process of registering
  • Provide a high standard of customer care to prospective volunteers, organisations and the public using the Resource Centre
  • To find out what clients are looking for in terms of volunteer work so be best placed to advise them
  • Encourage clients to use the phone in the centre to phone employers and to “start the application process”
  • Advise where possible on issues related to volunteering
  • Promote the positive elements and success stories from volunteering
