Marketing Workshops : Birmingham : Free to SEWM members, £35 to non-members

Are you a social enterprise wanting to know how more about creating brochures, holding promotional events and dealing with the media? Places are limited to 15 per workshop and priority will be given to social enterprises.  The workshops will be run again in September/October elsewhere in the West Midlands.

Be Birmingham Community Event : Birmingham : 23 May : Free

Do you want to help shape Be Birmingham in future?  This strategic partnership will be showcasing recent developments in their community engagement programme. You can offer your opinions on involving the sector in the new Be Birmingham Summit which holds its first meeting on September 17th 2008.

The event also launches the new communities and neighbourhood pages at Be Birmingham's website at www.bebirmingham.org.uk showingnews, events and forums for community groups to talk to each other and to Be Birmingham

FUNDING

Community Radio Fund

If you are a not-for-profit community radio station looking for core costs this may be the answer!  Examples of core costs include fundraising, management, administration, financial management, community outreach and volunteer organisation and support.

There isn't a grant limit but previous awards will give a good idea of what to expect. 

Grants can only be made to community radio licensees (“Licensee”) which are broadcasting under a community radio licence (and not an RSL, for example)

The First round for applications closes on 7th May 2008.
