Aims and objectives

The Third Sector Assembly is a long-term association of third sector networks facilitated by BVSC to improve communication across the sector, to grow its ability to influence and to improve relationships with the public sector.

At the launch of the Assembly in July 2007, the sector responded loudly and clearly that an Assembly was needed in Birmingham. In order to succeed, people agreed that the Assembly should be:

  • properly sector driven
  • inclusive to smaller organisations
  • offering something different
  • focusing on the needs of service users
  • able to influence commissioning to improve service delivery

Aims

To provide in the city:

  • an independent and resonant voice for the third sector
  • a long-term association of existing and future networks for the third sector
