By joining BVSC your organisation will become part of Birmingham’s premier third sector support and influence organisation.
We carry out a range of city-wide and strategic third sector support and volunteering services from our headquarters at The Centre for Voluntary Action in Digbeth. BVSC is the Gateway to action and support for volunteers and voluntary/community groups in Birmingham.
There are many benefits of BVSC membership. As well as keeping right up-to-date with information for and about your sector you will have the opportunity to be fully involved with BVSC’s work and will be able to have a say in how BVSC is run.
Governance
You can take part in elections to the BVSC Board, stand for election yourself and take a full part in our Annual General and other meetings.
Information and Communications
You will be fully informed, as members get priority access to all the latest publications and information from BVSC including the monthly Update magazine, our weekly e-bulletin and other email updates, policy briefings and reports.
Being Connected
One of the biggest benefits of membership is being directly connected to BVSC’s services and other networks which means you will be the first to hear about new projects and vacancies, funding streams and contracts, quality standards and training, networks and partnerships and volunteering placements. Members are automatically entered into and have access to the Third Sector Database which is full of key information for and about the sector.
Charity Builder
You are also entitled to free access to Charity Builder. This web based tool will enable small voluntary groups to meet their Human Resources and health and Safety responsibilities. The Charity Builder toolkit has been written by professionals and will enable you to write contracts of employment, job descriptions and policies and procedures as well as providing support and guidance on insurance and governance.
