New short course programme at Fircroft College

Fircroft College of Adult Education in Selly Oak, Birmingham offers a wide range of residential short courses, many of which are tailored to meeting the needs of the voluntary and community sector. Fircroft is now enrolling for its Spring/Summer 2010 short course programme.

Courses include: Report Writing, Successful Fundraising and Bid Writing, Training the Trainer, Developing a Fundraising Plan, Public Speaking and Presentation Skills, Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector, Understanding Budgets and Finance, Minute Taking, Strategic Planning for the Voluntary Sector, Business Planning for the Voluntary Sector, Community Development, First Line Management and Equality & Diversity. There are also courses in the areas of Skills for Life (English, Maths, ICT) and Personal/Social Development.

Many courses are FREE of charge, particularly for people claiming certain benefits, and include accommodation, meals and tuition.

Fircroft College of Adult Education offers a wide range of residential short courses, aimed at developing the skills, confidence, knowledge and experience of individuals, as well as helping voluntary and community organisations to work effectively and fulfil their purpose and mission. Applications are now being taken for short courses and programmes running between March 2010 and July 2010.

March – Report Writing

  • April – Successful Fundraising and Bid Writing
  • May – Training the Trainer (2 part programme), Developing a Fundraising Plan, Public Speaking and Presentation Skills (2 part programme), Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS – 2 part programme inc. induction day in April)
  • June – Understanding Budgets and Finance, Minute Taking
  • July – Strategic Planning for the Voluntary Sector, Business Planning for the Voluntary Sector

Short Courses costs just £70-£80 and include accommodation, meals and tuition. They are FREE of charge for people claiming certain benefits.

Fircroft also runs many residential short courses which may benefit your clients, in things like skills for life (literacy, numeracy and ICT), personal and social development skills, and the vital employability skills required to do well at work. Most of these courses are FREE of charge.
