Community Development Officer

We are appointing an officer to develop and deliver activities which support Dudley’s voluntary, community and faith sector networks to collectively influence strategic decision-making. The role involves working with sector representatives to public sector partnerships and facilitation of discussions using Voice, a tool developed in Dudley and used by networks to assess and increase their capacity to influence. The post-holder will be expected to:

• Understand and engage with community-based networks

• Take a Community Development approach to group work and collective action

• Promote and support a Community Development approach to collaborative and cross-sectoral working

• Support community learning from shared experiences

• Provide Community Development support to networks

The above will involve producing and providing information, supporting and training people, organising events and working with public and private sector partners.

Applicants must have excellent project management skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills appropriate to working with and representing Dosti to a wide variety of stakeholders.

We are particularly keen to receive applications from individuals who have undertaken the Take Part Learning Programme, or who are trained Voice facilitators.

The post holder will be based in an office in Brierley Hill.
