Trainee Welfare Benefits Caseworker

Birmingham Tribunal Unit provides free advice and representation at appeals relating to welfare benefits for those living in Birmingham (www.btu.org.uk).

The organisation would like to appoint a trainee welfare benefits caseworker to join its busy team providing representation at welfare benefit appeal tribunals.

Starting Salary:  £17,161 – full-time 35 hours per week
Plus union negotiated pay increase and 25 days annual leave.

You must be computer literate and be able to show that you have some basic experience of giving legal advice in a similar setting, eg in a local authority, solicitors, CAB, or other voluntary/community organisation.  You will eventually be required to maintain files to the required LSC Specialist Quality Mark standards.  Full training will be given.
